10 Inspiring Quotes for Uninspiring Times

  1. Your best music is still inside you. – The only way for us to have long-term happiness and success is to live by our highest principles, to consistently act in accordance with what we believe our life is in fact about.  That music you hear inside you motivating you to take risks and follow your dreams is your instinctive calling to the true purpose in your heart and mind.  Don’t ignore it.  Be enthusiastic about all that you do, and the possibilities that lie ahead.  Have the courage to pursue your calling.  Don’t die with your music still in you.
  2. It’s never too late to be who you could have been. – It’s a matter of switching gears, never looking back, and BECOMING the person today that you always knew you were capable of being.  Entertain every thought, say every word, and make every decision from their point of view.  Walk the way they would walk, dress the way they would dress, and spend your free time the way they would spend theirs.  Choose the friends they would choose, eat the meals they would eat, and love and appreciate yourself the way they would.  These steps MUST come in order for there to be change.  There’s no other option, no other way.  But since this person is who you REALLY are deep down, that makes this task a bit easier.  You just have to STOP BEING WHO YOU AREN’T.
  3. You are greater than the problems you face. – You are more than what you are going through.you are not the mistake you have made.  Let the problems come, and let the problems go.  Whatever the issue may be, engage yourself purposefully and enthusiastically in the goodness that still exists around you.  You may want the hero’s journey to be an easy climb, but it never is.  The rock slides in your life are there for a reason.  They create the stepping stones that guide you deeper into your own heart.
  4. Challenges are simply opportunities. – When you encounter resistance, it means you are moving forward.  When you come across a challenge, it means you have reached an opportunity for growth.  Life becomes more rewarding as it becomes more demanding.  Each new challenge is an opportunity to stretch beyond your previous limits.  Most of the advantages you enjoy today were born in the difficulties through which you once traveled.  So revel in the beauty of each challenging effort.  Give your best to life, and life will return the favor many times over.
  5. Tough times serve a purpose. – From every wound there is a scar, and every scar tells a story – a story that says, “I learned and I survived.”  There are moments when troubles enter your life and you can do nothing to avoid them, but they are there for a reason.  Only when you have overcome them will you understand why they were there.  So be brave and press forward; you will not see the light at the end of the tunnel until you walk through the darkness.
  6. There’s no excuse for giving up on your goals. – Whether a goal is possible or impossible for you depends more on what you do about it than on any other factor.  Your persistent, focused attention is what brings possibilities to life.  Certainly there will be obstacles that stand in your way.  And you can choose to use these obstacles as excuses for giving up – many people do.  But the truth is, if you have the courage to begin, you have the courage to succeed.  You just need to find the strength and willpower to keep going.  Success is achieved and maintained by those who try and keep trying.
  7. You are closer than you were yesterday. – The moment you’re ready to quit is usually the moment right before a little miracle of progress happens.  So don’t give up.  You were strong enough to get this far; you are strong enough to take another step.  Even when life issues you a series of roadblocks and disappointments, you can steadily achieve.  Even when you cannot make a lot of progress, you can make a little progress.  And these small steps add up, day after day, and ultimately lead to achievements far more impressive than those that are possible from a single effort.
  8. Your opinion of YOU is what’s important. – Most of the good things you do will go unnoticed by others.  Do them anyway, because you will notice.  Many of the contributions you make will not be fully realized by others.  Make them anyway, because you realize they are the right things to do.  It’s great when you receive recognition for the things you do, yet even when there is no possibility of recognition, YOU still recognize the reasons you are putting forth the effort.  Your honest, authentic view of yourself influences all that you do.  And that view is formed mainly during times when no one is watching.  Your life is a living expression of who you know yourself to be, regardless of what others think or see.
  9. It’s OK to let some people walk away. – You don’t have control over the things people say about you, but you do have control over how you decide to internalize it.  Leave people to their opinions and judgments.  Let them love you for who you are, and not for who they want you to be.  Or let them walk away if they choose.  They can’t harm you either way; it’s their understanding that is faulty, not yours.
  10. There’s a lot to appreciate in this moment. – Your journey will be much lighter and easier if you don’t try to carry your entire past and future around with you.  Take a break.  Let go of your obsession with yesterday’s struggles and tomorrow’s to-do list, and simply enjoy the beauty of what’s right here, right now.  Sometimes you have to stop thinking that some new richness will fulfill you, so you can fully experience the richness that is already yours.

Seeking God?

God loves a seeking heart. You may be looking for a sense of purpose in your life. Your heart is empty and each day consists of simply doing the “next thing”. We have great news for you, friend! That purpose and contentment can be found in a personal relationship with God. You can know Him! It gets better! More than you want to know God – He wants you to know Him. From that relationship flows the best plan for your life, the plan made by the One who created you, knows you best and loves you most. How can you know Him?

  1. Recognize that you are a sinner. Romans 3:23 says we all have sinned and fallen short of God’s standard of holiness. Romans 3:10 says that there is no one without sin. In other words, we all make mistakes. We sin against God. We blow it…and have since the day we were born!
  2. Understand that your sin demands payment. Romans 6:23 tells us that the wages of sin is death – physical and eternal. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” It also promises that the gift of God is eternal life. In other words, Jesus Christ went to the cross for you…and for me…to make the payment for sin that you and I should have made. He took our place! What a great love! Romans 5:8 describes that love in this way, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us”.
  3. Confess your sin right now to God. To confess means to agree with God about your sin and choose to turn away or “repent” of your sin. You are choosing to step away from your old life and ways in order to follow God and live out His amazing plan for your life.
  4. Receive His gift of forgiveness. Understand that His forgiveness is a gift. You can’t merit it by being good enough or earn it by doing good things.Romans 3:21-22 “But God has a way to make people right with him without the law. And God has now shown us that way which the law and the prophets told us about. God makes people right with himself through their faith in Jesus Christ. This is true for all who believe in Christ, because all are the same.”
  5. Accept God’s forgiveness as His gift to you and thank Him for coming into your life. Surrender everything you know about you…to everything you know about Him.Romans 10:10 tells us “We believe with our hearts, and so we are made right with God. And we use our mouths to say that we believe, and so we are saved.” In other words, we must believe in our hearts that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and that He rose from the grave. We confess that truth in our hearts and with our lives.
  6. Turn your life over to Him and choose to follow Him from this day on.Romans 8:38 promises: “Yes, I am sure that nothing can separate us from the love God has for us. Not death, not life, not angels, not ruling spirits, nothing now, nothing in the future, no powers, nothing above us, nothing below us, or anything else in the whole world will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
  7. Share your decision with someone. And celebrate the fact that God has taken up residence in your heart and life and will, from this moment on, be with you.

Friend, we celebrate with you this new relationship with your living God. It is the most important decision you will ever make. We encourage you to join a church that teaches the Bible. Look for a small group Bible study in which you can participate. Begin spending a few minutes every day, praying to God and reading His Word. Start with the book of John. It tells you so much about who God is and why Jesus came.

We pray that you will follow Him and experience all the blessings He has for you…on your journey.

WHAT STUFF ARE YOU MADE OF?

Today, the 21st of May  2013

On my way to work this morning, i was listening to my favorite and a mentor on FRANKLY SPEAKING with Muyiwa Afolabi   and he talked on “what stuff are you made of”.. hmm

This got me thinking while on my way to walk and committed myself to meditating on it which led to my writing this morning.

” a gold ring is tagged a gold ring because it is made from the element gold”, this was the quote that came to my mind during my meditation. WHAT ARE YOU MADE OF?

In the beginning, when God created man, He created us in His own image using the clay. In  Gen 2:7, we were told that after God made man using clay, He breath thee breathe of life inside and man became a living being. Two things are involve there,  these include ;

  1. Molding man with clay and,
  2. The breathe of life.

These two are pointers to what man comprises of and to what great extent man can do.

CLAY: Clay is a general term including many combinations of one or more clay minerals with traces of metal oxides and organic matter.

Uses

  1. Clay is one of the oldest building materials on Earth, among other ancient, naturally-occurring geologic materials such as stone and organic materials like wood.
  2. Clay sintered in fire were the first form of ceramic. e.t.c.

This is an indicator that God made us with a good material that is very much valuable and dependable

LIFE: Life is a characteristic that distinguishes objects that have signaling and self-sustaining processes from those that do not.

Extracted from Wikipedia.

having known what we are made of by God, then that should help us to discover how valuable we are and how God has purpose made us to be dependable, fruitful, productive, multiply and as well be creative. mind you, ” you can’t be so sure of what you are made of if you don’t have a close relationship with your maker”

What to do!

  1. If you are yet to give your life to your maker, surrender to Him NOW!
  2. confess your sins and forsake it.. Don’t go back to it.
  3. Have a close relationship with your maker (God) through reading His word and talking to Him in Prayer.
  4. be persistent and willing to hear from your maker.
  5. be committed to your new life style in God and live a faithful life.
  6. to crown it all, obey your creator by “Loving Him and loving yourself as your neighbor.

Do this consistently and see how productive and happier you will be.. GOD BLESS!

thanks

10 Things You Need to Learn to Live a Super-Happy Life

Was surfing for important articles that could help me & you live a happy life without seeking the approval of other party… check it out…

  1. Learn to say I love you. For some reason, this can be a hard one for many people, particularly with immediate family members. Generally, as you grow older you will come to realize what your family (particularly your parents) have done for you throughout your life and you will learn to become more grateful for what you have. Learning to say “I love you” can make your relationships blossom, and it builds transparency, honesty and trust, ultimately helping you in becoming a happier person.
  2. Learn to forgive. Have there been times in your life where you have felt betrayed or let down? Have there been times when you have felt that you have let others down? Although sometimes hard, forgiving others and being able to forgive yourself is essential for being able to move forward and regain a positive outlook in life.
  3. Learn to say no. Do you struggle with saying no to people, events or situations? Without saying no, you can become overwhelmed and experience imbalance in your life. Learning to say no is essential for being able to focus on what you truly believe in, what you value and what is important to you in your life.
  4. Learn to live your passions every day. Do you currently incorporate your passions into your everyday life? Spending even the smallest amount of time living your passion each day can have a huge impact to the way you feel and to what you want to achieve in your life.
  5. Learn to eat healthy & exercise regularly. The old saying goes ‘you are what you eat’ and even in this day and age the saying is truer than ever. The amount of information on health and wellbeing these days is absolutely enormous. Scientifically proven through the release of endorphins, eating healthy and exercising regularly can help you live a more fulfilled life and help you feel happier on a daily basis.
  6. Learn to connect deeply. Are you afraid of connecting deeply with others at the thought that you may be making yourself too vulnerable in doing so? Making yourself vulnerable and connecting deeply with others is actually not that hard. Connecting deeply with others can help you become more relaxed, open and honest, helping you to be yourself and ultimately help you become a much happier person.
  7. Learn to see life differently. What’s unique about you? Are you creating your own life and your own lifestyle? Life is not meant to be taken so seriously. Life is simply about enjoying the time that we have. We only live once. The older you get the more you will realize how fast time slips by, reminding you to slow down and appreciate the moment.
  8. Learn to set your own goals. Do you set your own goals and work towards them? Or does the World around you do it for you? We normally get brought up in a society where parents tell you what grades you should aim for, the media tells you how you should live your life, and your teachers tell you how to go about your schooling. Setting your own goals, focusing on them and pursuing them will enable you to follow what you truly believe in, live by your values and ultimately help you live a much happier life.
  9. Learn to count your blessings. What do you take for granted? As you grow and become more aware of the World around you, you will come to realize that you are extremely blessed. Perhaps you are blessed with good health, a good community or the freedom to live a life that you choose. The fact that you have the ability to connect to the internet right now in your leisure, read and learn is a blessing that many do not have. What do you have in your life or what experiences have you had that other people may have not? Remind yourself of this every day. Counting your blessings will help you take to the World with a positive outlook and a mindset to make a difference.
  10. Learn to give. Giving is a fundamental and essential ingredient for happiness. There is no doubt that the more you give the more you get in return. Giving to others can enhance your relationships, build trust, but most importantly, it can make a difference in the life of someone else, and this is the ultimate in happiness!

Have you mastered the 10 key ingredients for happiness? Which ones do you feel would benefit you the most? What can you do today to ensure you go to bed tonight feeling super-happy?

8 Personal Branding Tips To Market Yourself

1. Decide who you are and what is it  you want: This first step can prove to be deceptive in its simplicity.

2. Create a personal brand statement: Your personal brand statement is the short version of who and what you are. It should be used with every other aspect of your personal branding strategy. These simple one or two sentences should tell what you are or do, who you do it for and how you do it. For example a personal brand statement for someone who is in real-estate may be something like; John, bringing people together with their dreams in Florida since 1979.

3. Sell: Once you know who you are and what it is you want to be seen as an expert at it is time to sell yourself to others, which of course requires a personal branding strategy. The internet has made the ability to create a personal brand easier and faster than ever before. With the internet you can create a personal branding website, use social networking such as Twitter and LinkedIn, make video commercials and infomercials for uploading on sites like YouTube and most importantly create a blog where you can prove your worth.

4. Find and introduce yourself to at least ten strong personal brands: You are who you know is not just a cliché.

5. Comment on blogs with high readership in your niche: The more you can get your name and opinions out there the more people will begin to recognize your name and look for your opinions.

6. Interview as many of the top personal brands in your niche you can on your blog.

7. Volunteer to write guest blogs for other strong personal brands in your field. When others begin to recognize you as a strong personal brand you are half way there!

8. Link to other people and personal brands in authority in your niche. Again most people see people and judge them by who they hang out with, if you are seen with the top movers and shakers people will believe you are also a mover and shaker.

KNOWLEDGE!

KNOWLEDGE!

Knowledge is an awareness gained through experience or education. It is also the sum of what is known. Having known this, let’s move further to know why knowledge is important. This includes:

  • Ø To lead (II Cor 1: 10).
  • Ø To teach (psalm 94: 10).
  • Ø For escape from evil (prov 11: 9b).
  • Ø For understanding. (Prov 15: 14).
  • Ø For increase in strength (Prov 24: 5).

For you to desire to have knowledge, there must have been a purpose for that. For everything done in life, is of purpose and time (Eccl 3: 1) and your time to search for it is NOW! Further more if the purpose for seeking knowledge is not understood, then the need to search for it is of no use because if found, abuse is inevitable.

Many nowadays question God, why do people die so sudden? In the course of this question, the Holy Spirit made me realize the WHY through the word of God (Hosea 4: 6) “my people perish because they lack knowledge”

Note: they didn’t perish because they are not praying or fasting much but because they lack knowledge.

ARE YOU A VICTIM OR A VICTOR? THINK!         If in your heart you crave for knowledge, then you should:

ü Accept Jesus as your God and live a holy life. (1 Sam 2: 3) KJV

ü Desire to hear more of the word of God (Num 24: 16) KJV.

ü Fear God (Prov 1:7).

Note: to fear God is to love God and love your neighbor in which this lie the foundation of the commandment of God.

As you seek for knowledge through God’s word and you practice it, I pray you’ll not be cut short untimely in life and you’ll fulfill that purpose of yours on planet earth in the name of Jesus. “AMEN” PEACE!

Quotes: “If you want to secure your future, invest in quality spiritual knowledge through the word of God” D. Oyedepo

“If you lack the knowledge of God as a Christian, how do you tell the unbelievers to know God?” Tobi Isaac.

DISCOVERING YOUR GOD GIVEN PURPOSE

” success is defined as the fulfillment of purpose ” Leke alder said…..
Painting a scenario, a plastic manufacturing company producing a plastic chair produces a chair mainly for the “purpose” of people to sit. that is a success on their part, and the availability of the chair will be abused by the consumer/users if the purpose of the chair is not fulfilled. a chair was created by the manufacturer not to stand on but to sit, peradventure you stand on the chair, there is a slight chance the user will fall and if they keep abusing the availability of the chair, it get destroy faster than expected….
Discovering your purpose will never surface if you don’t have clear and crystal understanding and knowledge about PURPOSE…
WHAT IS PURPOSE?
Literally, purpose may be defined as the reason for which something animate/inanimate  exists or made.
NOTE: the words REASON!
when God created you, he patiently created and made you for a reason not for a treason… smiles. that just drop to my mind as I write.. He has a reason for creating and making you in His own image.
In the Holy book Gen 1 vs 26-28

26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27 So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

In the above chapter of Bible, we are made to understand the purpose/reason God created man and woman.. This I listed below for clarity..
  1. TO RULE,
  2. TO BE FRUITFUL,
  3. TO INCREASE AND MULTIPLY,
  4. REPLENISH/FILL THE EARTH AND
  5. SUBDUE IT.
NOTE: ” FOR YOU TO RULE, YOU MUST ALLOW GOD TO RULE YOUR MIND”
” FOR YOU TO BE FRUITFUL, YOU MUST ALLOW THE SEED OF THE WORD OF GOD TO GROW IN YOU”
” TO INCREASE AND MULTIPLY, YOU MUST FOLLOW THE RULES OF THE WORD”
God has created us to rule, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t serve. Having known what our general purpose is as human, this will be a pointer to individual purpose i.e it will help working towards achieving that.
HOW DO I DISCOVER MY GOD GIVEN GIFT?
“Do i have a gift is the question you ask always”, how do i discover my purpose?… written below are some basic steps you should take to discover your purpose,
  1. Locate yourself and move closer to your creator(GOD).
  2. Sit and realize, what you are passionate about  and and how you can find solution to your challenges to help others.
  3. Change your thinking.
  4. Be a lover of book.
  5. Enroll in a mentor-ship program. i.e have a mentor.
  6. Read biography of great people.
If you can  follow this steps be and persistent and committed to doing it, you are on your way to discovering your purpose that will catapult you to your land flowing with milk and honey..
BUNMI ADENIYI, wrote and i quote…
“Sure! every man or woman created by God surely has something in him that could bring him/her to d lime light if they can recognise or identify it, reckon with it and finally allow God to help them by yielding to him It is obviously in every man to become successful in life only if they can look inward and yield to God”…
GOD BLESS…
TOBI ISAAC.
